The Joys of Liquid Soap.

Liquid soap. The epitome of "personal" hygiene.

I'm a firm believer of liquid soap when you're sharing the stuff with other people. My reason is simple. When using ordinary bar soap, some nitwits will inconsiderately rub the entire bar of soap all over their body. This also results in certain pieces of hair lodging themselves in the soap. I find this disgusting... Wouldn't you?

My musings:
A majority of Chinese in Singapore are snobs when it comes to helping others out. Regardless of how nice they really are when conversing or socialising. Their "business-like" minds I guess.

The malays on the other hand. They're always willing to help. I'll give you an example, I was fishing one time and i forgot my phone. So I wanted to call my mom to tell them so. I approached 2 separate Chinese men. They gave the standard reply that they didn't have a phone. Then i approached this Malay guy. Instantly he took out his phone and handed it to me. And although there are Chinese who would also help you, it isn't the same as the Malays. The Malays exhibit full trust based on one condition. How you approach them.

It's true. I've always felt more at ease with the Malays, like I'm at home. And although I do have fun with the Chinese or the Indians, I'm never entirely relaxed with them.

My Progress:
My PHP skills are improving greatly. I've already created 3 new sites, with database access, entirely with PHP. They're mostly for business and organizations though.

Ray, Sting, Senior.

I went fishing with Ezekiel(Zeke) to my secret spot at Ubin on Monday. (It ain't secret if you'll follow me there.)

The tide was really low that day(we went at low tide). We didn't know what we were thinking so i guess it was expected. The highlights of the day were when Zeke accidentally mistook a dead, but still bloated(odd right?) puffer fish and poked it with his penknife. The thing kinda exploded... haha. The other moment was when i had my rod nearly pulled out by what i presumed to be a big ray... My rod really was about to tip over when i guess the fella knowing that something was there decided to pass on it after all. I was some distance away so i ran towards it. By the time i got there, the bugger was gone. In my mentality that the fish may have just dragged it away but not released it(line was slack), i decided to try and hook into it. Unfortunately it wasn't there anymore.

If i had caught that bugger, I... Sigh... I'm so sad right now..... :-(

Words escape me....

Sigh....

If I get one more shitheaded piece of conversation from this guy again, he'll be in some serious shit. He's got squat for jobs. Bastard....

I have my own computer and my mom hasn't touched this computer. I have programs on my computer to detect this. This shithead is possibly the biggest bald-faced liar I've known so far, possible forever.

Fucked up right? This kind of bastards i can tell that they don have any jobs. They just wanna look big and mighty. It's fucking fucked up. In the end i asked what exactly he wanted to do he still said don wan. These kind of fuckers deserve to be shot. But maybe then again, they fit the stereotype set for "people of his standard". Foreigner father married to local woman. Goes ITE.

And forever talks about fucking girls(and sometimes guys), and keeps on asking me to introduce "F"-able girls, and by "F"ing girls i mean "wham bam, thank you mam". He even somehow managed to get a name of one of my classmates, Wei Zhen, presumably from this blog, and then said that he knew her before. Then he said he forgot her number and if i could just pass it to him. Fucked up right? Kena sai this kind of people. Ask me to let him "F" my frens. In fact he persisted so long that i finally blocked him off for a whole fucking month. The next time he pisses me off, he'll be seeing some serious flooding with his mail account.

How can they do this?

I'm just so pissed at the moment. Everything is changing so fast. It brought me to the startling realisation that, the world doesn't wait for anyone.

The stargate franchise is expanding so rapidly. But it'll never be the same again. The main cast is slowly getting lost from the show. The problem here, as I see it, is that the show is forgetting it's roots. Indeed, there are now numerous games being about Stargate, tons of sites, and a few new spin-offs in the works.. I'll say this. You can take away the filler of the show without actually damaging the storyline, but once you take away the rest, there's nothing left. And you can't just replace ppl. To me as I see it, without Richard Dean Anderson(also played MacGuyver), the show has no future in my heart. Too many things are left hanging.

I guess I'll be looking to Stargate Atlantis from now on.

Sigh.... :-(

Let's just call her Gorgeous!

There's a really cute girl in my church. She and I always seem to arrive at around the same time. She's very pretty and knows how to dress well. Well, she knows how to dress lah.. haha.. She's got "a-little-longer-than-shoulder-length" hair. It's dyed a light brown at the ends, and is straight all the way until 3/4 down the end where it ends in "straightened" curls. She's quite fair and has very soft and smooth skin. [I know this because she bumped into me in the elevator. It wasn't really squeezy but somehow she pushed her arm against mine. No joke!!! :-) ]

Although, I must say she does look vaguely familiar. (See para 4. That's the paragraph after the next.)

For me, I find it's always got to do with the hair. I have no idea why. I have numerous memories of girls who I thought looked cute but when they changed their hairstyle, va va voom!!!

Which reminds me of someone that I haven't talked about for a very, very long time. Her name is Dyan.

Dyan is a very short girl. But when you look at her you just wanna take her in a big hug and squeeze her. She's just so darn cute and cuddly. Odd coming from a guy eh? haha... Contrary to popular belief, not all short people look like Rhea Perlman or Danny Devito. Dyan looks like a regular, well not regular, a very pretty human. Only smaller. Way smaller.

Anyway, on the day that our Cat(short for Catechism, i.e. Catholic Sunday School) class reopened after the December holidays, she appeared at the doorway of our class with this gorgeous new hairstyle, and really classy wardrobe. It was like she was the girl next door with the "notch" turned up about ten times. Eye candy...

How her entire family(relatives included) socialise is really quite interesting. I know her cousin through Cat class too. I know her uncle and his wife and their 3 kids through a monthly prayer meeting that I used to go to. I know her parents through my church functions. And finally, I got to know the rest of her extended family through a retreat session that i had attended. An annual retreat that a local(Singapore) retreat centre, SFX Retreat Centre, had been organising for quite a while. Ours was the 22th such retreat and as usual it was held in Sabah, somewhere 3/4 up a mountain that was near to the tall mountain that Sabah is famous for. Kathmandu? Kalimantan? I can't really remember the name right now...

Coincidentally, that was the same year that her entire extended family decided to go for the retreat . It was also the retreat where the most number of youths decided to come, a number of which I already had acquaintances with, from my Church in Tampines. It was also the retreat where the retreat master's mentor decided to come and experience the whole thing. It was also the retreat where a local(Sabah) Catholic school for the mentally disabled decided to pop in. As you can see, a lot happened then. My PSLE results was also scheduled to have been released on one of the days that the retreat was being held, so we had to ask my Godmother to help us take it.

We stayed at the retreat centre itself, in dorms. The place had previously been a minor seminary, a place where they train priests. This centre had no flush toilets. Well, it was the usual toilet, just that the flush wasn't working. The water heater was gas powered. And at night, the cool wind blew thru the windows which was very nice, but wasn't exactly the best thing to motivate you to get up the next morning.

Anyway, with regard to Dyan and her family. Her family came with her, including her little sister, and by little I mean both ways. I'm talking curl-her-up-into-a-ball-and-play-soccer kind of small. Her other uncle and wife with their nerdy, only son, were also there. Their son's very friendly though. Then there's her other uncle and his only son. This guy is really outgoing. Then there's her entourage of friends who practically are her family. Then of course, there is her only auntie and her daughters, one of which is also in my Cat class. A really spoilt girl whose really, let's say, open to things, without actually being, too open. Her name's Krystal.

Anyway, me and Dyan got real friendly at the retreat. And her sister and my brother, well they were friendly in the not so mature way if you get what I mean. Nothing actually happened then. Except for maybe one incident.

We were real talkative one night and while everyone was still praying we had been released from "the youngsters' camp"(A sort of childcare group for the kids while the parents prayed in some hall upstairs. Admittedly, for a number of us, it was a chance to escape the seriousness of the worshipping going on upstairs. We even had some 19 yr olds there). Anyway, we left that "playgroup" early and headed back to our respective rooms. Halfway thru, my bro and I decided to go exploring. Thinking we'd invite the gals along, we walked over to their room. Now as we were approaching their door, we saw a cockroach heading towards it. I blame that stupid cockroach for making me do what i did next. Becuz of my preoccupation with the roach, i forgot to knock. So i burst in to the room, starin intently at the roach, silently cursing it for daring to enter such a place. Then i looked up and i saw here in a very unflattering singlet. Anyway, her little sister who was in the room, looked slightly confused, but her sister waved it off, obviously surprised at the turn of events. As was I. I looked down and mumbled something about the cockroach and then walked off but not before informing them of our plans to explore.

I did have some nice conversations with her though.. Very interesting conversations. And she's very witty. With a real sharp tongue too.. haha... We cracked each other up every now and then, but. The day that we saw each other again in Cat class, after we had returned from that retreat, we were silent. Not a word. As if nothing had ever happened before. Stone cold. I did catch her looking at me on that first day though. After that, no more. Nothing at all. I guess she was pretty pissed. Well, you know me and my trying to be cool, erm.... I mean, my being cool.

From the trip i also met quite a few other ppl, all of whom i have failed to keep in touch with. Including a bubbly South Malaysian who insists they invented Manglish and that Singlish is it's derivative. haha..

Anyway, I went completely off topic there but.. haha... I'd like to talk more about it but it was so long ago...

*Please excuse the number of "retreats" used in this section. :-)

Sometimes my church gets really crowded so I have to stand outside. And other times it isn't, so I don't. I do vaguely remember once when I was inside and I decided I wanted to stand outside. Surprisingly, she went out too. Admittedly so did another guy. (see next para)

I think a whole subculture has developed in my church, a silent clique if you will. We all try to look cool and stuff in the presence of each other. Although, quite frankly, it would seem that I'm the only one trying to be reverent at mass. Oddly enough, they follow my cues. haha.. When I kneel down, they do too! (Certain points during the Eucharistic Celebration we are supposed to kneel down.)(Sometimes when it's crowded, at the appropriate times to kneel down, you're torn between the choice of continuing to stand or to kneel down in a really squeezy place and if the fella in front of you doesn't want to kneel, you're stuck with your face near his ass. Although so far for me, it's been mainly women. haha...)

And from all of my experiences, I can conclude and state what I think I like in a girl.
Intelligence. Should be shorter than me. Must be cute. Must have long hair. Preferably be Chinese. Dyed hair preferred. Must not be conniving and sly and subversive, in other words, must not be like the majority of modern women. :p Being innocent is even better haha... But with innocence, intelligence just ain't there. :p

On a side note, I thought I might just share that I once saw a teenage girl in church wearing a mini skirt, really low, till you could almost see all the way thru "the valley of darkness". It was apparent she wasn't wearing any inner-stuff. Guess what. It was Easter somemore.

I'll keep you updated on that girl from church. My dad did warn me about this kind of behaviour. haha...

Cheers.

Poet and Chandon.

Over the years i've become a good read. I noe what ppl want, how they will react, whether or not they have ulterior motives, etc...

The problem with me, as I see it, is that I just don't know how to react on that "intelligence". You see, I've been brought up as a polite person, but as you will notice, the frustration of the my "lack-of-action" has brought cracks upon my demeanour and so i've been letting some steam out, but the steam only serves to heat up the cracks and cause more fissures here and there.

The burden of my ability weighs down heavily on me. As the days past, i grow more weary of the seemingly unending path. But I hold fast to the truth. The truth that there is a great reward just before the end, and an even greater one, after.

But the cracks on my facade blow steam out, into my face. It gets into my eyes. I begin to sweat.

Then I come to a fork in the road. I am faced with a choice.

Persevere? or quit it all and give up.

For thine sake the answer best be the former. For I may just turn on you.

The burden of my gift, my trait, weighs heavily on my shoulders. I fear I may walk no more.

FusionStream, out.

Gatsby! Gatsby! Gatsby!

I now have 4 HDDs on my com.
2 60GBs.
1 80GB.
1 120GB.
and a 1 temporary 200GB Hard Disk Drive.

Why so much u might ask?
Well, let's just say that the world of cyberspace is a big place. And I too, do contribute to it's size.

And all this while not using the RAID Functions in my RAID Card.

For those of you who don't know what RAID is, it's Redundant Array of Independant Disks.
It's basically 2-4 disks that have all the same data so that if one fails, you have a backup and a current one at that.

However, since it's creation, the RAID Card has had more functions added to it such as mirroring and striping. So now it isn't really jsut about having 4 disks with the same data. There is also another function where you can write to 2-4 disks simultaneously, splitting the data between the two HDDs, so that read and write time is faster. (Analogy: Two hands writing instead of one.)

Well enough of that.

I'm currently staking out good deals for 3Mbit "Always-on" connections for my web server.

My mother cannot even remember things. She owed me $20 but held me to a bargain that i'd have to clean up my room before she gave it to me. She even made me sign a contract for good measure. Imagine my surprise when that contract actually made good for me. She denied that she ever owed me $20 and then changed her stance to that she had already given it to me. Uterlly useless. I had to show her the contract that she made me sign just to show that she did owe me money. Talk about irony.

And this reminds me of a certain MS Chee. With second name that rhymed with hi but is the just the opposite in terms of meaning. bodoh sia...

With regard to this blog, CK tot i was talking about him with regard to F1. The part about ppl who make unfounded statements on Michael Schumacher. haha.. but i don even remember him saying anything to do with that leh.. haha..

Anyway, major overhaul on my system. A continuation of what was mentioned above...

I've got five fans in my system of which 3 are really powerful. 3 different light setups also so now my computer looks very "chio". :p One long red tube(standalone), 4 Blue Leds on one fan, and one long circle around another. Let me just tell u this. My power supply has only four Molex connectors(The HDD & Atapi CD/DVD power connectors.). I've made my own Y-Connectors(Power splitters) to give it a grand total of 15 female end connectors. Can u imagine the strain the PSU must be taking? But i enjoy pushing my machine to it's limit.

All my PCI slots are full and i still have some more PCI-Brackets for other stuff...

I've overclocked my CPU to 2.65GHz, gave it a 0.2++ voltage increase, increased the Clock Cycles of the DDR 400Mhz SDRam accordingly and gave it a 0.1 voltage increase.

I've set the Dynamic APM on all my drives to as fast as possible and am currently going to *convert* all my drives to SATA.

I'm also making plans for all the new bits of technology that are slated for release soon. DDR2, Dual Core 64bit chips. CPUs with 8Mb l1 cache(taking longer than expected). And the day when 2Mb l2 cache becomes a standard thing on CPUs.

I've seen a Linux stand-up server going for $1488. It's damn cheap. 3Ghz Pentium processor. 1GB ECC DDR RAM. 80GB HDD. 1000 Mbps Giganet connection plus support for 100Mbit and 10Mbit connections. It's brilliant basically. It runs on Fedora Core, a linux distro. I'm aiming to add that to my arsenal. If I can get enough, maybe I can make my pwn program so that it can support clustering and I can get my own Super MainFrame!!! Who know what the future may hold.

I'm also saving up for the Intel XEON. I'll probably be the only person to have a XEON processor for a desktop computer!! haha... But what can i say.. I like broad bandwidths. :-)

Now i do realise that some of you may not have the foggiest of what i just said. But bear with me as i gloat about my new "cravings" and unwittingly display my technological prowess and superiority over you. :P

On a similar note. Is it just me or is that everytime one re-installs windows(not Linux, just windows) that for the first few hours since the installation, serious memory leakage begins to appear? I've tried it with an AMD Processor although it is an old one, an AMD k6 3d-266. I wonder if that's the actual core memory leakage that is so prevailent on the pentium class CPUs. It's very disconcerting.

Anyway, my next computer will probably be(if it's before the advent of dual core processors), an AMD based machine, with a 64bit processor. I have yet to fully grasp the relationship between the actual performance variables and results between similiarly rated Pentiums and AMD CPUs. I'll probably ask one of my frens who is not as knowleadgeable about computers as yours truly but is definitely better with newer generation AMDs. (disregard previous statement if you don't like show-offs. Then again, better not read this blog. haha) What happened to the Cyrix CPU and the other one whose name I forget... C'mon guys. Give Intel and AMD a run for their money. Help us to drive their prices down!

I'm looking for spare P4 parts so anyone selling cheap... u know wat to do.
fusionstream at gmail dot com.
I've got an old p4 board here that's lying dormant and i can't wait to see the power run thru it's veins again!

Cheers. :-)

Realtek 8139c

Alonso,Trulli, de la Rosa. My hat's off to you! Schumi and Barrichello, your new car shows great promise. Cheers to the F12005!

The new Ferrari F1 Chassis, the F12005, is excellent in the sense that it's incredibly quick and it handles well. Unfortunately because of it's premature release, it still has a few problems here and there. It also irks me that people who don't follow F1 could make comments like "I'm glad Schumacher isn't winning anymore". What do they know! When people who actually watch F1 say that they're only saying it in jest. We all love Schumie not because he keeps on winning but because he drives with great skill and never fails to put on a show.

Alonso was doing perfectly well too along with Schumie, who was giving Alonso some pressure, till Schumie's car locked up and failed to perform after that, after which he retired.

Barrichello also struggled halfway thru the race with some stunning bursts. But the new chassis, like a premature baby, still needs some refinements.

Trulli's also doing quite well with his new team after making the switch from Renault to Toyota after some personal differences with Renault's team leader.

Narain, the new Indian driver, after making a nice start, retired in lap 2 due to mechanical problems.

The man of the race however was undoubtedly Pedro de la Rosa, the man who stood in for Juan Pablo Montoya who injured himself while playing tennis, of all things. He was involved in every battle that took place throughout the race. He probably raced more than he did in his life and he set the race lap record. He put incredible pressure on everyone who stood in his way and after a few failed attempts, he pulled his way up to the near top. There was drama from him every minute of the race. A man who hadn't raced for 3 years, a sub, now a super-sub.

Also, the new rules suck. 1 engine for two races, and 1 set of tires throughout the whole race. It's stupid. Have you seen the tires at the end of the race? And sometimes even at the middle of the race. Incredibly slicked!

Anyway, with regards to the Pope. I'll pray for him. I am a Roman Catholic for those of you who don't know, and I'm darn proud of it. In fact, many of the F1 drivers did some things to show their respect for his passing. And I'm pretty proud of them. Catholicism, the religion in the world with the most followers! The Pope was a great man. Humble and caring for us till the last. He was the one to reconcile many religions together. Eternal rest grant unto him O' Lord. And let perpetual Light shine upon him. And may he rest in peace.

Channel News Asia reported that there was only 4% of Catholics in Singapore. I think that's pish! Looks at the number of churches here and the amount of masses that they hold. There has to be at least a minimum of around 13%. With a bare minumum of 10% actively attending mass.

On a different note. My Web Server is up and running with ease. It's excellent. I'm running a full server with mySQL, PostGreSQL and all the Database programs, and PHP and Apache. It's GOOD!!! I've already set up my forums and php pages. I've even got my own "leased" domain name. The only problem is that i am currently using one of two connections open to me. (A third just closed. A Pacnet DSL Connection). I'm currently using a MaxOnline 6500 connection. That unfortunately, because of it's "network" infrastructure, means that my site is only viewable by those on the network, ie Starhub. Therefore i'm trying to change it to my other connection. A Lan-enabled DSL connection thru Singnet. Then everything will be fine. Once i test out the waters, I'll be changing to a 3Mbit connection for SOHO so that the world can see my server and i will begin my web hosting services for a very cheap fee. Something around $3 a month for 200Mb of space, with the early birds maybe getting 300Mb, all the usual stuff. PHP, MySQL, etc.... Anyone interested can contact me at "fusionstream AT gmail DOT com". Ppl who are on the Starhub network can also view my site at fusionstream.dyndns.org Remember, for the moment, only those on the Starhub Network.

And all this while i haven't even finished my STSC project and i have a test i haven't even studied for that's on tuesday. Cheers.
